Record System _ The backbone of Good Management
                               “A Record is an accounting of events or data”.
The method by which Records are kept are as varied as farm and the individuals who keep them .They are many Good System which include Card System , Tags , Color , Coding , Wheels and Computer .Each has its own Merits and Inadequacies . No matter what the system it must be studied to and be modified by those who use it .Most importantly it must be kept up to date. Incomplete or incorrect Records can be as useless as no Records and often more frustrating .Function and principles discuss apply to computerized as well as Hand kept Records.
Record keeping Objectives; 
The information that records provide serve many purpose. A few as fellows
• Day to Day Management decision.
• Financial accounting and Taxis.
• Measures progress.
• Trouble shoot program.
• Genetic evaluation.
• Research.
• Planning future action.
• To mange the labor.
Characteristic of good Records:
Every good Record system should have the following
• Simple good Records.
• Easily updated.
• Easily understood.
• Easily summarized.
• It should be complete or updated.
• Minimum time and cost to maintain the record.
• No repetition.
• Each animal should have permanent Record register.
• All the event with correct data and time.

On farm computer : computers are the latest Technology to be adopted by farmers and their use will continue to increase . The power of the computer lies in its speed of computation and storage capabilities. It can store information more efficiently than paper files and data is only entered once .
NOTE;
All farmers they must have kept Record on a farm that is necessary for successful Livestock Business.
