Problem faced by breeders & how to correct them.

Problem faced by breeders & how to correct them.

These are my own breeding experiences which i like to share with you all. I started pigeons, than i kept parrots, finches, ground birds, but eventually since 1990 fallen in love with fancy pigeons.

I am not afraid of telling my failures with you try to learn from my failures and don’t repeat them. Many fanciers hide their secrets of breeding birds and failures with others, but i don’t,
i wish in sharing with others, i always help any fancier who want to get honest opinion, but i don’t like if my knowledge is being tested. Many fanciers don’t believe in luck, but I do, some believe in hard work, I believe in smart work.

I want to share with you that a common film actor when the same work with knowledgeable and competent director he can get an Oscar, so I believe that if you get the right teacher or coach your method of breeding birds can improve a lot.
I honestly believe that new comers are more knowledgeable than our time breeders. We lack all opportunity, correct guide line. In bird keeping we are handicap with so many problems, like resistance from our parents, spouse, space, time, money. But a true bird keeper fights with all above odds and become a top class breeder. WE SHOULD BE PROUD TO BE GOOD BREEDER RATHER SELLER.

The following are the different problems we face in different times of bird keeping. Some of them i corrected over the years some are repeated so many times. My net conclusion is that bird keeping is not an easy task, you have to fight with so many odds, that you should be very consistent, the different odd you will face during your bird keeping would be

(1) variations in extreme weathers (2) no knowledge about particular disease or less knowledge about disease and its rectification (3) Not complete knowledge about particular breed (4) lack of interest in particular breed (5) birds are for fun not money making machines (6) un suitable cage for the birds (7) too much ego in particular hobbyist (8) shy to ask questions (9) laziness (10) following others for a particular breed or what’s hot these days (11) bird clubs are not helping as much to their members as regard sharing of knowledge about breeding (12) more interested in mutations and reluctant to keep original breeds. (13) jealousy (14) sale of some particular breed (15) one thought that his knowledge is better than rest of breeders.(16) not careful about seasonal breeds as their requirements are different (17) at one time try to specialize in ground birds, parrots, finches, doves and pigeons. (18) Jack of all trade of none (19) avoid visiting other breeders (20) believe what he has listen from others and don’t believe in applying new things (20) lack of management

Its not necessary that you all agrees to the above mentioned points, there could be lot of difference of opinion, but these are the problems i faced in my long bird keeping career. BUT TO BE VERY HONEST ABOUT YOU ALL, THE ONLY THING WHICH I COULD NOT MASTERD IS CONSISTENCY, BELIEVE ME THIS IS THE SUCCESS OF EVERY THING.
